Christmas came upon me this week...

So my dad said one day, "Hey Theresa, you should make a deer puppet."
I thought about it, figured out how I could make the antlers, and then it suddenly hit me.
Why make just a deer puppet when I can make a Christmas REINdeer puppet.
BOOYAH! Here's what I made.

I am just so diggin' this puppet. I especially like the scarf...I'm actually thinking of making myself a scarf. And then I thought, "Well, if you're going to have a reindeer you just HAVE to have an elf." So I came up with this little guy. I'm almost finished with him. He doesn't have eyes; just shaggy bangs, because he's a bit of a rebel. And I'm not sure if I'm going to stick with the "blonde" hair or give him brown...just not sure. And I still need to make some ears for him. He actually reminds me of a thin, hairy Ziggy.

But I finally, FINALLY found some peach fleece to make "skin"...took me forever to find it. Anyway, I'll be busy making more puppets. Just wanted to show you what I was up to. I'm still trying to think of a way to make a snowman puppet. I know how to make his head, but the body is still a puzzle to me. But I'll be adding my reindeer (Reggie is his name) to my shop tomorrow. Totally cool!

So thanks for tuning in! Tootles...Theresa

Working on this little guy for a customer!

This is a custom puppet I'm working on for a really nice lady in Canada. I'm also working on a princess puppet for her too. I'm still testing the waters with people puppets. They're a bit more time consuming but they do look pretty cute.

Anyway, I'm still working on other puppets. Taking Thanksgiving week off to make some more.

I had a brainstorm driving home Yesterday!

And BAM! This is the product. Okay, so it's not like an original idea. It actually reminds me of those little pom pom people (Weepuls - I think they're called) that were super popular during the 80's. Aaaahhhh yes, the 80's.
So anyway, I'll just say this is my version of a Weepul. Anyway, I had the furry fabric that I bought over a year ago and never did anything with it, and now I know why! Unknowingly I was saving it for this little cutie!! So I'll probably make some more because she was actually really simple to make and I'll add them to my shop to see if they sell. But until then I really need to find a name for them...but this little gem looks like a Polly. She's sooo cute! Looks like I found a good Christmas gift to give the kiddos in my family.
Oh, and I've got more puppets coming into the shop hopefully this weekend! More puppies and an alien for sure!
Until then,
Tootles.
