Halloween Weekend is OVER!

Thank you, LORD!

I didn't get very much accomplished this weekend as I was out of town, but I did take some puppet arms with me to stuff while I helped my sister hand out candy, so it wasn't a total loss.

Okay, I'm adding another puppet (well, I should say 2 puppets) to my arsenal of Christmas stock. I'm going to make Thing 1 and Thing 2 from The Cat in the Hat.

I already have them cut out and I found the perfect shade of blue for their hair. I am totally stoked about these. OHMIGOSH, and I'm going to try to make a 1 eyed 1 horned flying purple people eater. Tee-hee! That is going to look so cute. I've attached my motivational pictures of my latest "borrowed" ideas.

My goal (if anyone is interested) is to get all of these puppets into my shop before Thanksgiving. I'm taking Thanksgiving Week off from my regular job so I can dedicate my time to my puppet making. Wish me luck!

That's all for now! Just know that I am working my best at getting all these little guys and gals finished before Thanksgiving!

Tootles.

Busy Busy Weekend!!!

I have been preparing for Christmas. I have cut out at least 23 puppets and will be sewing my fingers off this coming week! Just to let you know what I have coming, here's a quick list:

Puppies, Foozy Bugs, a Duck, a Chicken (I'm hoping Super Cluck if I can get his mask right), another Alien, 2 Turtles, 2 Bunnies and some clowns. I found the cutest material for clown suits.

Let's see, what else is coming? Oh, I was thinking of making a black bear and I am making another red bird.

I've got some other ideas brewing so stay tuned!
Thanks!!

What's that famous quote from John Lennon?

"Life is what happens when you're busy making other plans."
Yep! That's it.
I am almost finished with my dude ladybug and my dark colored mouse and one of my slugs. And I'm trying to figure out how to get whiskers on my kitty cat. Every time I go to work on them SOMETHING interrupts me...geesh! It's becoming a bit frustrating.
But I'm still working on them. I have a few custom orders to tend too...I haven't forgotten those, and I still have so many other ideas brewing in the brain...
So never fear my lovable patrons of Silly Toes Productions! There will be puppets.
Oh yes...there will be puppets.
Until next time.

Everything is coming together!!

Well, I worked hard over the weekend and finished 1 puppet...I know! Go figure!
However, I did get a lot done with my list of characters. So hopefully by this weekend (knock on wood) I'll have my snake ready, my kitty cat, a mouse, a dude ladybug and my rabbit...oh and two mini slugs.
My mouse is finished actually. I just didn't have time to take pictures of him and post him. I need to add eyeballs to my snake and rabbit and I'll be done with them. The rest are in pieces but it's all just a matter of putting them together.
So just in case anyone was wondering when they were going to see more puppets in my shop, give me until the weekend and I should have them all done....okay, okay...at least MOST of them.
Thanks!!

3. a Cat in a cute sweater
4. Two mice
5. a Bunny Rabbit in a cute sweater with a scarf
6. Two Slugs

8. and a couple of more, but I left my list at home so I can't remember them.

So I will be busy busy busy this weekend!!
I also have Puppet Stands available. I should have gotten better pictures, which I will.
So COOL! I'm going to hit Joann Fabrics today to stock up on Fleece!!
I've been given some other AWESOME ideas.
1. caterpillar
2. sun flower
3. snail (which I am almost done with my Gary version from Spongebob - just trying to figure out the shell!)

So keep checking back. I swear I wish I could do this full time and make enough $$ to support myself. I need to win the lottery!!! :o)

Why is it that freight is so complicated???

Well hello visitors of Silly Toes!! I have so many new puppets to add (well, once I finish them) but I'm going to give you a sneak peak at what's coming up next?

Meet the Bearsky Family. I have them all ready to go, except I have to figure out the freight! I wanted to add them to my shop today but I didn't know how much freight was going to be!

The package will be bigger and a bit heavier as I am adding a handy-dandy puppet stand along with the family.
I also have 2 mice, a rabbit and another foozy bug to add. I've been working on those this weekend.

So for now, here's a picture to entice you!!

Thanks!

What's going on with Silly Toes???

Well to anyone who is reading this I have been super busy. I have custom orders and then I've come up with some new ideas...Foozy Bugs, Slugs and I'm actually working on a snail. Wanna know who it is? Gary from Spongebob...I really hope he turns out okay. I had to special order his eyes.
I'm also working on a puppet trio - The three bears. So far so good. I'm really excited about them.
I am also going to try my hand at shipping internationally. How cool is it to know that someone across the world wants one of my puppets?! That is totally exciting!
So anyway, that's pretty much what's going on. I've been so super busy I've let my backyard get to "jungle" status again. Not looking forward to mowing that down, but if I don't get it done it will be worse off later...Yuck! But then that means I have to put my puppet making to the side to do it....double Yuck!
Anyway, wish I had some pictures to share. I hope to get some soon. And I'll be updating my shop very soon.
Thanks!

Let me try Martha's link one more time...

http://www.marthaland.etsy.com

Here's the link the proper way...just click.
I really do need to blog more so I remember how to do this stuff! :o)

SORRY!!!

New Puppet Idea...

Well for Pete's Sake (even though I have no idea who Pete is...maybe he will be one of my next puppets) I am the worst at keeping up with a blog...SERIOUSLY! :o(

Well, I've been looking around Etsy.com and came across a really neat shop. Here's the link:
http://www.marthaland.etsy.com.

She (being Martha) creates miniature slugs and snails of all sorts out of polymer clay. I'll be honest in saying that they are so (and I mean SO) Cute! I had to buy a couple. I am expecting them in the mail any day.

Anyway, I thought to myself, how cute would it be to make a puppet that looks like a slug?! Well, I'm working on it. I've made my first attempt with much success, but I'm just not sure about the tail. Seeing that it is a puppet, the tail at the bottom wouldn't really show below the curtain (or stage) that the puppeteer is using thus the tail is kind of pointless....so like I said, I'm still working on it. Anyway, I've attached a picture of the little guy (please disregard that he's pink and a guy). Many manly men wear pink...

I made a new video of my latest Puppet - Steve!

Check it out on my video bar!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vDGfxHoxfO4

Here's the link to youtube for the vid as well.

OH and I received another picture of Hajira. Of course, typically, I don't have it to post, but she's wearing a pretty yellow dress. She is so adorable.

Anyway, I'll keep creating puppets - taking tomorrow off from my other job so I can have some puppet-making time.

Ladybug - TOO CUTE!

Okay, here's my ladybug. :o)

Well...the back side.

I made some birds!

This guy is going to go up on my shop this weekend (keeping my fingers crossed). Hopefully I will have time. Just wanted to show some pics of what they look like.

I also am going to add a ladybug (FINALLY!!!). Let me see if I can add that pic too!!

Okay well gotta run...my favorite show is on.

Please meet Juma and Hijara!

Consider these two beautiful children a part of my extended family. I am anxiously awaiting my Sponsorship kit so I can get started corresponding with Juma and Hijara.

Hijara's birthday is coming up (as is mine) so I will be sending her a monetary gift. It's better to send money so they can purchase the gifts there and won't have to pay so much in freight. I had to ask about this because I thought how wonderful it would be to send them both their very own puppet. Darn the freight!!!

But I'm still excited!

As for puppet production this weekend, my goal is to finish a lady bug puppet, a foozy bug and I have a red bird and a blue bird that I need to list!! It truly takes a lot of time to upload pictures and get all the info when adding an item to my shop. But I save all my info so it's not like I have to re-do everything. I can always reuse what I've already done.

Anyway...if you're following thank you so much (from the bottom of my heart).

Will write soon.

I really need to blog more!

This should be like my daily journal. What's the point of having a blog if I'm not going to blog, right??!!

Well, I have some new puppets coming along. I've added puppies, a duck, an alien and two bunnies onto my shop site. It's very exciting. It would be my dream to make puppets full time. Maybe when I retire I can...or get married to an extremely rich man who wouldn't mind if I stayed home and kept the house tidy for him all the while making my puppets in my very own studio!! Neat-O!

But alas...I will not hold my breath.

I have on the horizon a clown and a chicken (a super hero chicken), birds and some bugs. I'll have pictures of what I am working on in a few days. I'll have to post those later as I am currently blogging from my other job (aka my BORING job). Yes, yes, I complain, yet I am thankful to God for having it.

I will post again very soon, because I have something wonderful to share with you. I just recently chose to sponsor two young children who currently live in Tanzania, Africa (a little boy and girl). Juma is the boy's name and Hajira is the little girl's name. I will post their pictures in my next entry so you can see how cute they are and how precious they are. If you want to learn more, here is the link to Compassion.

I am super excited to be sponsoring them. You just don't know! Tee-hee!!!
Talk Soon!

Introducing the lovable Chocolate Bum Bums!

Well, I came up with another addition to my line of stuff that I sell. They're called Chocolate Bum Bums. You've heard of chocolate Bon Bons, right? Well, these are kind of like that, but you can't eat them, and once you look at them, you can't help but smile.

THEY ARE SO CUTE! And I had so much fun making them. :o)

Anyway, I've attached a picture so you can see, and I already have a box of 3 for sale on my shop site. Take a peek and then tell yourself, "I have to buy these just because they are so cute!"

I also added some Woobits too! I have more colors than what's in my shop, but I'll be adding those hopefully this weekend. So thanks for reading and I'll be posting soon!

Let me introduce my Woobits!!

These little guys are just the cutest little things on the face of the planet! SERIOUSLY!!

I think it's the eyes and the nose that make them so gosh darn cute. I've included pictures of a couple that I have made. I'm going to make some for Valentine's Day (which I guess I'd better get on the ball if I want to make them available for Valentine's.

Anyhoo...thanks for reading and don't forget to check out my shop site on etsy.

Tuesday, January 6, 2009

Apparently I have issues writing on a blog - mainly I don't really write much on it. BUT I Googled Silly Toes Productions today and my blog popped up plus my Etsy Shop site. How neat! Well, my puppets are off and running. I've sold 6 so far and my customers seem to like them. No complaints so far.
WHEW!
I'm starting a new endeavor. They are called Woobits. Now these aren't puppets, but they are just the cutest little things. Typically I wouldn't have a picture handy to post as I am entering this little tidbit, but I'll make sure I get one in the next few days. Maybe I can upload a picture of the logo I created for them.
I'm also thinking about starting some greeting cards. Not sure really if I'm going to do it, but I've come up with some cute ideas that I think might work.
I'm just having so much fun right now just thinking up stuff.
Tee-hee!
Anyway, if you get a chance, please check out my shop and thanks for reading!
PS: I can't find my Woobits logo. I will post in a few days.
